Throughout the District 19, the holiday spirit is alive and well with many of our community organizations, senior facilities, business, schools and families hosting parties in celebration. It is a time of happiness and coming together for many, especially bright-eyed young boys and girls who can’t wait to unwrap a special gift from a loved one.
However, I realize that for some less fortunate children the expectation to receive a gift may go unfulfilled due to various circumstances; and this time of year can be difficult on those families. My offices has been working with our partners in the business community to plan something special for kids in our district.
The spirit of giving with the 19th District shone bright this holiday season as we partnered with Sam’s Club to provide presents to 50 children in our district. Sam’s Club manager Shane Haynie worked with five Sam’s Club stores in the region to donate nearly $800 worth of toys. Partnering with the Family Resources Therapeutic School in the Hill District and the Hope VI Tenant Council in Manchester, we worked together to provide some awesome gifts to several lucky children!
The partner ship with Sam’s Club and two of our community organizations displays the virtue of teamwork and the collaboration which makes the 19th District special. Thank you to Sam’s Club managers Shane Haynie, Paul Argenziano, Maurice Goodwin, Greg McFall, Chris Solvesky, and Ryan Dively. The People’s Office and the children of District 19 appreciate your kindness and generosity!
