I applaud Governor Wolf’s action to raise the minimum wage for all employees within his administration to $10.15.
While the Governor’s action today only covers a smaller segment of our citizens, it is the right move in order to continue to move us in the right direction. We cannot honestly continue as a commonwealth in name only. Raising our minimum wage gets us closer to being a commonwealth in real practice as well.
As the Democratic Chair of the Finance Committee, I’ve been committed to working with all government representatives, private groups, and the public to bring meaningful and long-lasting economic opportunities to the citizens of our district. I look forward to working with the Governor to implement the new minimum wage among the administration; and hopefully soon we can make this a reality across the state.
