STATEMENT FROM REP. JAKE WHEATLEY ON GOVERNOR WOLF MINIMUM WAGE EXECUTIVE ORDER
Pittsburgh, Pa. – Upon Governor Tom Wolf’s signing of an Executive Order today, raising the minimum wage to $10.15 for all employees within his administration, state Representative Jake Wheatley (D-Pittsburgh) released the following statement.
“I applaud Governor Wolf for his bold leadership in the fight for economic fairness. Families across Pennsylvania deserve to make a wage that does more than help them get by from paycheck to paycheck.
“While the Governor’s action today only covers a smaller segment of our citizens, it is the right move in order to continue to move us in the right direction. We cannot honestly continue as a commonwealth in name only and raising our minimum wage gets us closer to being a commonwealth in real practice as well.”
