REP. JAKE WHEATLEY FIRST TO FILE FOR APRIL PRIMARY ELECTION OVER 500 DEMOCRATIC PARTY VOTER SIGNATURES
Pittsburgh, Pa – The re-election campaign of state Representative Jake Wheatley was first to the finish line when it comes to filing their nominating petitions. These petitions are required by state law in order to appear on the Primary Election ballot. Wheatley’s grassroots efforts have been in full-swing since the start of the petitioning period and as a result, his team filed with 500 signatures of Democratic voters in the 19th legislative district.
“My team and I never take any election for granted,” said Wheatley. “We approach our campaigns with the same energy and tenacity that we have demonstrated throughout my career in public service.
“With over five-hundred signatures from members across our community, it sends a strong signal that despite all the dysfunction going on in Harrisburg, the people of the 19th district recognize the leadership I have demonstrated in order to move each of our neighborhoods forward. I can’t thank them enough for all the support they continue to give me.”
While it is only required to file 300 signatures in order to appear on the ballot for state representative, Wheatley’s team will continue their petition drive in an effort to increase their signatures and outreach to the community.
“Never quit until the job is done. That is what public service is all about and it’s exactly the kind of work ethic that the 19th district deserves,” Wheatley concluded.
