Seniors make up almost a quarter of the residents in the 19th Legislative district; which is just one of the reasons Jake is dedicated to seniors in our community.
In the past several weeks, Jake has met with hundreds of seniors across the city to address issues that impact their unique needs; putting special focus on access to quality healthcare and discussing lifestyle and dietary programs that help seniors stay fit and healthy.
Jake supported Governor Wolf in his work to bring Medicare to more residents throughout PA, and in the recently introduced bill to prevent seniors from getting stuck in disputes between providers and insurers over out-of-network bills – more commonly called “surprise billing.”
Jake has displayed leadership in bringing together members of our business community and residents of District 19 to promote mental, environmental, and spiritual health. To help seniors stay healthy, Jake holds an annual wellness weekend and health expo where he discusses his five pillars of a healthy lifestyle:
- Environmental health
- Economic health
- Mental health
- Physical health
- Spiritual health
It is Jake’s firm belief that improving the health of our residents increases the overall health of our communities. This means helping individuals find gainful employment, increasing levels of educational attainment, providing positive outlets for youth, increasing access to fresh foods, ensuring new developments meet the highest environmental standards, and working closely with our faith-based community.
At a time when there is so much dysfunction in Harrisburg, Jake doesn’t get bogged down in the back and forth political games. His mission is clear: Lead for my community and get results.
If you’re a leader and you’d like to help us get results in the 19th District volunteer with the campaign and Join Jake today.
